Entering this upmarket charmer gives a little of the frisson of arriving in a fairy-tale Middle Eastern palace. The four-storey colonnaded courtyard is filled with birdsong and retains historic well-shafts from which archaeological finds have been kept. Rooms are liable to overload the senses with all the gilt and brocade, but if it's glitz you want, this place is hard to pass up.
There's a small sauna and splendid hamman (bathhouse). Paying by credit card costs 18% extra.
