Royal Palace Hotel

Baku

Converted from a luxury apartment, the Royal (ex 'Baku') Palace has expansive, totally renovated rooms with flamboyant flourishes, kettles and brand-new bathrooms. Rooms are accessed from marble hallways and a spiral of staircase wrapped around a long, crystal chandelier.

The little roof-patio retains a Soviet-era mosaic and makes a pleasant sitting space or place to store bicycles. The hotel is upstairs behind an unassuming old stone facade, and works in conjunction with the Seven Boutique Hotel next door and several rental apartments.
