About Ashley
I am a travel and adventure writer splitting my time these days between Provence and the French Alps. I have cycled from France to Uzbekistan and crossed Albania (750km) and Kyrgyzstan (1600km) on horseback, unguided. My first film, En Selle: The Kyrgyz Ride, follows my childhood dream to gallop across the steppe and mountains of the old Silk Road to learn how to live as a modern nomad. When traveling, I always let a question or topic guide my journeys -- that's how I ended up running 100 miles around the Mont Blanc on the quest for the best beer on tap in a mountain hut!
