Hotel Drei Kronen

Vienna

Within footsteps of the Naschmarkt (some rooms overlook it), this family-owned abode is a delight. Elegant touches – shiny marble, polished brass and a spiral staircase – are distinctly Viennese, but nonetheless a casual feel prevails. Rooms are slick and modern, with the occasional pop of colour.

The breakfast buffet is huge, with pastries, cereals, bacon and free-range eggs, as well as Sekt, an unheard-of luxury in a three-star pension.
