Theater in der Josefstadt is a theatre in the Volkstheater mould, with an ornate interior and traditional German productions, founded in 1788. One hour before performances, tickets are available to students and school children for €6; same-day standing-room tickets are also available for €8 at 1pm for afternoon productions, and at 3pm for evening productions.

It is Vienna's oldest still-performing theatre.
