T.O.M. R, located in the village of St Andrä im Sausal, 20km north of Leutschach, has long been southern Styria's dining hotspot. Tom Riederer and partner Katarina run their venture in a former rectory – a light, elegant fine-dining space with a few upstairs rooms for overnight stays. Riederer's cooking is exacting and highly visual, and there's Styrian warmth and easiness here.
This is an experience to be enjoyed at leisure, which means arriving by 7pm for dinner, 12.30pm for lunch, or 11am for Sunday brunch. Book ahead; do mention if you’re vegetarian, vegan, or have allergies or food intolerances – they’ll be happy to cater for you.
