Hotel Schwarzer Bär

The birthplace of acclaimed tenor Richard Tauber (1891–1948), the 'Black Bear' is run by the friendly Nell family. Overlooking a courtyard, the 54 rooms and suites have been made-over in monochrome hues and parquet; some even sport waterbeds. The wood-panelled restaurant dishes up Austrian classics; views extend from its rooftop bar.
