The Salzkammergut

A super-stuffed – but far from stuffy – vintage emporium, with a range of housewares, ephemera, furniture and clothes spread over several rooms and lined up in glass windows along a side arcade. This is the place to snare yourself some of the town's signature green-on-white glazed ceramics.

Pieces here are mostly from the '70s and '80s, when the local makers still painted a unique pattern on each and every place. If you're happy to take one with minor flaws they can cost as little as €5. Traditional Austrian kit, from Leiderhosen to coats, can also be found at bargain prices.
