Konditorei Grellinger

The Salzkammergut

While the lakeside places overflow with visitors, this historic Konditorei (bakery) attracts a decidedly more local crowd. The beautifully evocative interior of original fittings brightened via a clever contemporary eye would be worth the price of a (very good) coffee alone, but the pastries here are also praise-worthy, from the simple nut or poppy-seed-stuffed Kipferl to elaborate tortes, and an excellent apple strudel.
