Restaurant Esplanade

The Salzkammergut

This offshoot of the famous pastry shop Cafe Zauner serves Austrian favourites, including trout and a real Wiener Schnitzel (breaded cutlet) from veal or the cheaper pork variety, in a fabulously pleasant location beside the river. Given Zauner's pedigree, desserts are a big draw, too. It's closed in January, and sometimes February too.
