Hammerwirt

Banquette seating, wood tables and brass lanterns keep the mood traditional and cosy at Hammerwirt, situated 3km north of Hallein. The real delight is the walled, chestnut-tree-canopied garden, however, which hums with happy diners in summer. Artfully presented Austro-Italian dishes range from the likes of Backhendl (crispy breaded chicken) with potato salad to fennel salami-chilli ravioli with rosemary-honey butter.
