Builders Arms Hotel

Fitzroy, Collingwood & Abbotsford

A reimagined old boozer that’s retained its charm. Come for a pot of beer by all means, but there’s also decent wine by the glass and fancy versions of pub grub at the bistro (such as chicken parma and a great fish pie). Picnic-style tables on the footpath outside are perfect for taking in Gertrude St.

Come for Monday steak night or chicken off the rotisserie on Tuesday at the Public Bar. The whipped cod roe and cheeseburger, always available, are locally famous.
