BIG4 St Helens Holiday Park

Top choice in The East Coast

Rolled across a green hillside 1.5km south of town, this park has plenty of family-centric amenities (games room with cinema, jumping pillow, playground) and a smart row of blue-and-cream villas racked up the hill. Decent camp kitchen, with grassy tent sites up top.

The park's new mountain-biker Bunkhouse (single/double $45/90) is like a little self-contained village inside the park. Rooms are in black shipping containers ringed around a fire pit, sun loungers and open-air kitchen with pizza oven. It has a bike wash-down bay, maintenance area, bike storage and shuttles to the Blue Tier trail above Derby. A winning addition.
