You can tell a good yum-cha joint by the number of Cantonese diners inside and by that measure Hung Cheung is the best in the inner west. Gung-gungs (grandfathers) rub shoulders with tattooed rockabillies and hungover students as trolleys squeeze between cramped tables. Yum cha served daily till 3pm, after which there’s a stir-fry-based dinner menu.
