The hub of performing arts in SA, this crystalline white Festival Centre opened in June 1973, four proud months before the Sydney Opera House! The State Theatre Company (www.statetheatrecompany.com.au) is based here. Festival Plaza, linking the Centre and city, was undergoing a major upgrade when we visited – a project which may elevate the Centre's (deserving) iconic status.
