Historic Yongala Lodge Motel

Built in 1884, this lovely historic building with gingerbread-house-style balustrades is but a short stroll from the Strand and city centre. The rooms and apartments are small but good value. Long-term 'tenants' and noisy party-goers can detract from the overall feel of the place, but there's enough variety and space to make it work.
