This atmospheric mountain retreat is the nearest thing to a ski lodge in the bush and offers absolute offline peace. You can stay in rustic log cabins, well-appointed apartments (known as 'sky lodges') with spectacular Scenic Rim views, or in a tent surrounded by forest.

The central Clifftop restaurant serves buffet-style meals, and there's the Teahouse cafe by the camping ground (open 9.30am to 3.30pm weekdays, from 7.30am weekends and closing at 8pm Saturdays). You can also buy BBQ packs and picnic hampers here. Some rates include breakfast and half board.
