Cruelty-free does not mean taste-free at this fully vegan cafe that crouches in a humble shopfront just off Lonsdale St. It does a mean all-day breakfast that could include a blueberry-pancake stack or coconut-water porridge. Its egg-free baking has scored awards for the likes of the almond and hazelnut brownie and cinnamon and sugar pretzels.

Bigger bellies can go for inventive burgers – add coconut bacon to marinated tofu for a flavour bigger than any meat. The Mexican menu runs to a huge burrito bowl, gluttonous nachos and other tasty treats.
